Our Beers

Brewing experience days will be available again in April at £150. Come along to the brewery and play an active part in brewing one of our beers along with sampling a few pints. The full process will be explained to you along with recipe formulation.Once the beer you brew is ready you will get a crate of 12 bottles to check your handy work at home.

You can also personalise the 12 bottles that you brew and take home with a photo for just an extra £20 per person. Please bring your chosen photo with you on the day. Makes a great Birthday or Father’s Day gift as well as a fantastic memento of a Stag do etc.

 

Plans are being put in place to launch a new beer to be brewed by the landlord of a local pub to be launched at the Queens jubilee celebrations this year. This is still a work in progress with more details to follow over the next few weeks.

 

In July this year it will be a year since i become self employed and been brewing full time. To celebrate this fact we are aiming to open the brewery to the public over a weekend so they can sample a pint whilst looking down on the brewery below in our bar. Bottled beers will also be available along with four pint jugs to take away. More details will be available over the next few weeks along with the chance to name a new beer to be launched at the brewery which will only be available at the brewery.

We launched two new beers at the  Loughborough and Leicester beer festival and these are now out in local pubs.

 

Ryou Biru is a 5.5% IPA made with Columbus and summit hops.

 

Mr bumble is a 4% honey beer made with local honey supplied by the Honeypot on Markeaton park in Derby.

 

The third fermenter has been collected and will  come into use by April. This will then increase capacity by 50% as we are winning new customers every week.

 

 A new beer has been made along with Dave from Raw called Captain pugwash a dark red beer with the malt bill from Muirhouse Brewery but hopped by RAW. This will be available soon at local pubs during April.

 

We are very proud that our beer is on permanently at the five lamps in Derby which recently won two awards from Derby camra as pub of the year. Our beers currently rotate through the current range but will be changing over to Pirates gold permanently pop in and see Graham and give it a try.

 

The brewery has won another award when we launched another new beer specially brewed for the market beer festival in Chesterfield in the battle of the beers. This beer was up against fifteen other new beers and we were very happy that this came third in the voting from the sixteen beers on offer.

 

The presentation for these awards took take place at the Exeter arms in Derby on 21st January.

 

This is Coffee porter at 5% a dark beer packed with roasted malts blended with coffee.

 

Finally the brewery tours are now starting to commence so please contact us for available dates for future visits.

 

If you are interested in coming along on a tour then please drop us an e mail. The tour are £10 per person with a 7pm start and a free bar until 11pm.

The brewery has now been moved into an industrial unit in Ilkeston as the brewery continues to grow. Our beers will now be on all the time at the five lamps in Derby. With the launch of the official brewery logo this will now appear on all our pump clips as our beers appear more regulary.

 

Since the start of July the brewery has now doubled its output as we are now brewing full time and the day job has gone!! This means two brews are week are currently being done. Our beers can now be found locally around Ilkeston and Derby with new outlets being added by the day.

 

 

If you are organizing a beer festival then please give us a call. We can do any beer from our current range or a one off festival special. Our beers are only available locally direct from the brewery so give us a call. The brewing schedule fills up very quickly so please give us as much notice as possible.
